The Voivodal Specialistic Hospital is the leading medical institution in the region of Warmia and Mazury and one of the leading ones in Poland.

There are many specialistic wards in the Voivodal Specialistic Hospital in Olsztyn. The Cardiac Surgery Ward is the youngest among them. Due to implementing the most modern operative techniques of treating cardiac diseases and very good results, it has quickly become respected by patients and doctors. Endocrinology and Diabetology Ward is the tertiary reference center, equivalent to the clinical status and provides the highest quality of care. Medical staff of departments of Haematology, Nephrology and Endocrynology provide continuous and professional care to their patients.

Creating the most modern and the best equipped Department of Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care Medicine in the region allows treatment of the most severely ill patients with trauma, with the most severe infections, severe systematic and multiorgan diseases, requiring artificial techniques of life support and continuous intensive monitoring of vital functions. Modern equipment, very good diagnostic abilities and well educated staff available on the 24 hours a day basis allow the highest quality of medical care. The most severely patients are being transferred to the hospital via aerial transport thanks to the landing field for helicopters in very close proximity to the hospital.
